Some travel memories are best shared through a few moments of video. During our trip to Gran Canaria, I filmed the Maspalomas Dunes, a landscape that deserves a little time and attention. I wanted to share that glimpse here, both as a memory of our holiday and as an invitation to pause.
There is something compelling about a landscape made of sand. The curves, textures and open space give your eyes somewhere to wander, without much competing for your attention. It is a different kind of beauty from the buildings, gardens and busy streets we often photograph when travelling.
One of the pleasures of taking a video on holiday is returning to it after you are home. A photograph holds a single moment, while a video gives that memory a little room to breathe. Watching it again offers a brief change of scenery in the middle of an otherwise ordinary day.
Travel also gives us opportunities to pay attention differently. Away from familiar routines, we tend to notice the shape of a landscape, the colors around us and details we might hurry past at home. I appreciate having these small reminders to carry some of that curiosity back into everyday life.
This is a simple addition to my collection of travel memories from Gran Canaria. If you have a minute, take a look and enjoy the view. Sometimes a little space, even on a screen, is welcome.
